I think people get the wrong idea from Greg. If you are a serious bodybuilder looking for macro dieting specialty advice, maybe not the right place. However the reality is is that obesity is not healthy, never will be healthy, and the only way to seriously fix it is a really hard process of forced restrictive eating. Health and fitness should be promoted more. Being excessively fat is not a positive. I don’t know why fighting obesity is such a controversial subject. I’m a fat guy and no there are no positives.
RDL - constant tension,bar never touches the floor SLD - bar comes off the floor on each rep,same body position ,same muscles,slightly different but both effective

Excellent video, Mitch! Back in my day we only used straps in training. If the grip failed on max day it was too damn bad. So we were looking to increase pulling power to be more explosive and speed up the dead, indirectly assisting the grip. We had alternate grip or the dreaded hook grip. It's a different scene now allowing straps and hitching. Vince Anello and Larry Pacifico were my deadlifting Italian favorites! Lol. I want to mention a future direction you might consider, maybe you have, but this video gives no evidence of Bill Starr (RIP) deadlift advice. Years ago Bill noticed that Olympic weightlifters could compete with the strongest deadlifters in the world using a much lighter workload in training! Why was this? It was because the Olympic lifters had fresher and better conditioned lower backs. I noticed you didn't have Dead-Hang cleans or higher rep elevated stiff deads on your video. Those are HUGE. Starr wrote articles on improving the Deadlift with lighter workloads. If you haven't read his stuff, it's worth a look. Larry Pacifico and Vince Anello are still around and that's a potential source of extra gold. Take care.

Kettlebell swings honestly are GOATED for beginners, it helps produce a smoother deadlift and gives you the opportunity to do hundreds of reps without the type of strain that would come from doing these with actual deadlifts. I learned kettlebells before ever touching a barbell, and could pull 500lb just from the kettlebell training. It's not going to help if you've been lifting a while but for a beginner still learning motor patterns it's definitely a good choice.
Deadlift max is 500. Don't @ me.
Deadlift is like anything in life, K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid. Don't do something that is more complicated than it needs to be.
I do like the romanian/stiff leg deadlift for a novice or beginner. It's a good core and back workout but will not show what you can do in a standard deadlift.

Stiff leg deadlift is a deadlift from the ground with straight legs or somewhat straight. Romanian deadlift is a deadlift that does not touch the ground, and keeps constant tenstion og the hamstring. They are verry different

Im 67 , retired army, love going to PF, I also have access to four army gyms, and the big one is the finest army gym in the world. PF is a nice place, everybody is there to workout, a few of the youngsters are in there gawking at themselves and doing selfines to much. Lots of ladies in tights! Which is a plus for an old guy, motivational awareness. hehahhahaa
Stiff leg deadlifts are basically like a normal deadlift (from the floor, deadstop each rep) just without any leg drive, knees relatively straight. RDLs are when you start from the top, go down til about mid shin (or lower) then reverse back up. So they actually are quite different with different benefits

I barely deadlift before, but because I barbell row often and do it with relatively heavy weight (160kg), I managed to 1 rep 210kg in my first attempt.
